16 & Pregnant… just want to talk to people who get it 🩷
Shared on Mommit/BabyBumps but joined this group so I want to share on here too 🩷
Hi! I’m 16 and currently 11 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I’m just looking for a place to vent and feel less alone because this is really overwhelming and I have no one to talk to.
My boyfriend and I have been together since freshman yr-started dating Feb 2024, became active in December. I went on birth control in January, but I guess nothing’s 100%. My last period was April 11, and I didn’t get one in May—but I didn’t think much of it because I knew birth control can mess with your cycle. Then the nausea hit and I started getting worried.
I got my first positive on June 7. I told my mom right away and we went to the doctor on 6/12, where they confirmed I was 8 weeks and 6 days. I had my 16th birthday on June 19 (which was a little rough because I was throwing up all day 😭) and then we went on vacation, which was a nice break. Now that I’m home, it’s hitting me that this is real.
My boyfriend has been great, and we’re trying to just take it one step at a time. We’ve both started applying to jobs, we’re learning to drive, and I already do virtual school, so I plan to continue that for junior year. I’m due January 16, 2026.
On the outside, I’m still doing normal teenage stuff like going to the movies, going to the beach, planning for the 4th of July—but mentally, I feel like I’ve aged 5 years overnight. I’ve had to completely rethink my future. I always wanted to go away for college, travel, get a bunch of degrees, become a teacher. Now I don’t know what that’ll look like.
Anyway, if you read this far, thank you. I’m not looking for judgment—I’ve had enough of that in my own head. Just hoping to connect with people who’ve been through this, or older moms with advice🩷
