Are people in Calgary getting more “rude”?
I’ve been living in Calgary since 2019, and maybe it’s just me, but I feel like people are way more reserved now compared to back then. Like, I walk the same route I used to in 2019, and before, folks would at least make quick eye contact or give a little nod. Now, it feels like everyone’s looking at the ground or just zoned out. Same thing at grocery stores—people seem more rushed, less friendly, like they’ve got permanent ‘stress face’ on.
I get that nobody owes anyone a smile or a hello, and yeah, maybe it’s just life being more stressful these days (bills, jobs, who knows). But I swear it wasn’t like this before, or am I totally imagining it?
