Help!

Our CivPro prof is always absent, so patulong naman sa dilemma naming mga first year. Does a dismissal of a main complaint generally also dismiss a cross claim? I understand sa Rule 17 section 3, it doesn't, pero accdg to my classmates, sabi ng prof matic dismiss naman daw pag yung cross claim result ng main complaint.
