Looking for a compact/crossover SUV < $20k, 2021+ model

I’m trying to figure out some of the more reasonable and reliable cars that are 2021 models or newer. I was going to originally go for a Ford Escape, but they added that strange rotating shifter (who let them do this).

I generally like crossovers and compact SUVs since they’re easier to maneuver in the city and I prefer their handling. It’s also been years since I’ve searched for a car and I want to get a better understanding for an actual good deal.

In terms of what I want from a car:

• AWD
• Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
• Heated seats (ventilated would be a nice to have)
• Moonroof or Panoramic Roof (nice to have)
• Gas engine
