Where do you LOVE to live?

I’m living in Toronto right now in cabbagetown area. I love this area and would love to continue living here but my apartment has some major problems (mostly roaches and bed bugs but also some management issues). So I guess I have two questions.

1. Does anyone know of any nicer/higher-end apartments in this area that’ll have less of a bug problem?

Or

2. I see a lot of negativity on this sub about places people hate for one reason or another. What are some buildings or areas you’ve absolutely LOVED living in? What were the reasons? I’m willing to move to a different area for the right reasons!

Some things to note I do have a pet (10lb mini poodle) so pet friendly and parks nearby are a must and my absolute max rent would be $2500/month
