They’re finally done! These are the first two ever backgrounds I’ve made and I’m very proud of them. They took a few weeks but with the help of my amazing partner they’re done. The children love them and I wanted to share my work lol

I used expanding foam and grout as well as a box cutter and crenel to make it. I’m still finding bits of foam everywhere… it literally turns microscopic but I can still feel it :,)

Dw the tanks are bigger than they look in the photos, for some reason they just look a lot smaller than they are. They’re made by my partner and myself and are around 40 gallons.
I’m planning that within the next few years I might double their size by adding identical tanks on the end of each to make it larger. But I don’t know yet, they’re wood enclosures so I’ll just have to wait and see in case they start rotting or something else. The lizards are very happy with their homes rn. The tanks were made about a year ago and (knock on wood) and are holding up well, so hopefully I will be able to increase the size.

I also plan on making panels like the background on the sides of the tanks and hides in a similar fashion that’ll be around the interior. I just need a break from working with foam and grout :)

Here’s some photos of it, the first photos are of the finished back grounds and the second photos are the enclosures with stuff on it. The following photos are process photos from the first background. I forgot to take photos while making the second one. The final photos are the backgrounds being used. There are still things to do to the enclosure, such as add a moving water feature and more plants/clutter, but it’s a work in progress :) enjoy!

Both backgrounds finally done!!
