how do i hint to my crush that im interested?

i (15f) is currently texting my crush (15m) and he keeps leaving me on sent or if i dont text him first he wouldnt initiate. we texted ytd night and i found that hes more responsive in the night or early morning. ytd night i texted him "goodnightt" and he texted back "gn" is this a good sign. how do i hint that im interested ? do i continue texting him more or wait till he initiates. btw we both r from diff schs so idk if thats btr or not bcs what if he alr likes someone or is talking to other girls?
