12 mo flying 20+ hours

As the title says, I am thinking of visiting family in Asia next year for the lunar new year. My LO will be 12 mos old and the flight will be 18-20+ hrs depending on if we book direct or indirect. Just curious if anyone has used an inflatable toddler bed or if most people opt for the carseat for the flight? I'm just beginning to think about this now and am wondering if anyone has done this and has any tips. TIA!!
