Dying from Mushrooms

Sa a few days ago there was a post of someone who said he ate too many like the classic sories. Didn't weigh it,thinks he's gonna die. Goes to the hospital.

But he claimed the hospital said he was gonna die in hours due to hypothermia and organ failure.

I always grew up with "you can't overdose" from shrooms. How much of this post is BS or is it possible?
