When you’re lonely, maybe don’t turn to others who feel the same

Positivity

I’ve been feeling lonely for a while now, and one thing I realized is when you’re lonely, it’s easy to gravitate towards others who feel the same way. But honestly, that doesn’t always help. I started thinking maybe it’s better to talk to someone who’s there to listen someone who brings positive energy, not just shares the heaviness. Of course, expecting that from friends or strangers can feel selfish. I mean, listening to someone’s negative thoughts all the time can be exhausting. I get it. That’s why I decided to pay for emotional support not because I couldn’t talk to people, but because I didn’t want to burden anyone.

I wouldn’t call it therapy, and it’s not like I was looking for anything romantic or dramatic. It’s just been nice having someone I can message now and then, without overthinking what I’m saying. There’s something comforting about knowing someone’s on the other end, even if it’s just small talk or a quick check in. I didn’t expect that to make much of a difference, but it’s helped more than I thought.
