Half a year today
Hit six months sober from weed today (I’m also 2 years 1 month sober from alcohol). Just wanted to share some positive changes I’ve noticed after being free from weed for this long:
I have a lot more motivation to be active and move my body more. I started in the gym a few days after quitting and it really helped with the withdrawal process, but it also helped so much with my mental health. I’ve lost 30 lbs in these last six months!
My memory has gotten so much better- I can actually remember past conversations and interactions with people, when in the past I would forget 90% of them.
I’ve been able to start putting a lot of money towards the debts that I built up over the last few years of destructive behavior. Instead of getting high and spending $40 on Taco Bell through DoorDash every night (and sometimes falling asleep before it arrived.. lol) I’ve been knocking down credit card debt like it’s nobody’s business. Spending a lot less money on shit food and also not buying a $40 cart every other week.
I just wanted to say that it does get better. On really rough days I still miss weed and think I want to smoke, but it feels so good knowing I’ve stayed away for this long. During my last attempt at quitting, I made it 5 months. Now I’ve beaten that and feeling so proud of myself🥹
