Travel win - solo

I traveled for the first time by myself and it worked fine. I wanted to share what I did, in case it helps others.

  1. I picked a shorter flight (1:45 hours). I did pay the extra fee in case I needed to cancel/reschedule the flight at the last minute.

  2. I packed a travel kit with all my stuff, i.e. barf bag, medication, etc.

  3. I took scopolamine four hours before the flight. I wore sea bands, just in case.

  4. I had mints and gum, to help clear my ears.

  5. I took the day before off from work so I wouldn’t be stressed out and packed at a leisurely pace.

  6. I brought snacks and bought a water just in case.

  7. I got to the airport early.

  8. While I was on the flight, I brought something to do, to help me think about something other than the possibility of getting sick (I crochet and listen to an audiobook while I do it). This is a GAME CHANGER! The flight went by really fast.

  9. My ears were fine (the cabin pressure actually made my ears not hurt). Still had tinnitus but not bad.

I struggled a little at the airport on the way back. The noise and over stimulating surroundings. I did lots of breathing exercises and it helped (I don’t care what other people think while I’m doing this).

I hope it helps someone. ❤️
