AITA for not thinking I was given a fair shake at this job?
Was let go as an HVAC apprentice on Thursday for not calling out sick soon enough. Work starts at 6:30 I guess I was supposed to call out 2 hours ahead of time which would be 4:30 when nobody is awake. I texted him around 5:45 which I thought was enough time. Boss told me I was useless and didn’t know what he was paying me for.
First call out in 13 weeks of working there, never missed a single day of work or came in late. I volunteered on Saturday’s for installs.
We had 2 techs leave the company and 1 got injured and I think they expected me to compensate for them not being there anymore as someone who only has 1 year of experience. (This wasn’t explicitly stated but I think it was silently expected)
The Lead Technicians on the job also had a problem with me taking my water into the 150 degree attic didn’t want me cluttering the work area.
I almost fell off the ladder when doing the work outside too and stopped sweating at some point. I have tolerance of the heat for a long time as long as I hydrate.
They told me “So do I have to let the bosses know you have to take such and such amount of water breaks during particular days.”
