FedEx Smartpost is absolutely terrible

Using the two absolute worst couriers is a terrible idea. Ordered a package on the 18th, shipped out July 23rd from a location about an hour north from me. Went to a sorting center 20 minutes away from me, then taken to a post office 200 miles away, now back to that same sorting center 20 minutes away. Basically just a week of holding the package in limbo for no reason. Isn't this supposed to be more economical, but you waste a week traveling over 400 miles total with a small package?
