The B’s wrapped up an impressive series against the Papas Fritas (Hawks), winning 9-7. After the slugfest that resulted in a Hawks’ walk off on Tuesday, I was wondering if the B’s would be looking at a series split against a Hawks team with explosive offense. The B’s sure proceeded to prove me wrong with their sheer firepower.

Some highlights:
- SHORT. Short had an OK start (for the batter-friendly Pioneer League), going 5.2 IP, 4 ER, 8 H, 1 BB, 6 K, 84 NP. He is third in the league in strikeouts with 43.

- HOMERUNS AND SAVES. Harris IV picked up a HR in the 4th, his 7th. Conor “Chewie” Richardson got his first save of the season as Sullivan worked last night.

- ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH COLORADO. The squad now boards a plane to Colorado for a series against the Rocky Mountain Vibes (21-14). The Vibes are just one game up on the Hawks, so this is a series you look to win. The Vibes, however, have 3 batters on the top 10 batting averages list: Clark (.463), Linscott (.423), and Booth (.388), so it’ll be a tough task again for the battery.

I’m going to guess Matsuoka will be on the mound, looking for a bounce back game after getting batted around this week, giving up 9 ER.

Two weeks left in the first half! Let’s go Oakland!
