Group trip with my GLP1
Hi there lovely people!
I am about to go away for 3 weeks with a group of my classmates for a rotation for my uni degree. We will be living in shared accommodation with a communal kitchen and fridge. Only one person in this group knows that I take a GLP 1 (When i first started the medication I accidently mentioned during lunch one day how much I loved my new medication because for the first time in my living memory food actually satisfied my hunger - she asked what medication I was taking and it felt rude to not say anything - when i explained why I was on it and my binging ED she wasnt fazed in the slightest about it). I have been with this small group all year as we move through rotations and they are very level headed and I'm sure they wouldn't care if they found out.
Only a very small number of people know about my GLP1, and some have had mixed reactions to finding out - some supportive, some not so much (even after explaining my story). The stigma around GLP1a and the recent fear mongering campaign the media have been on, coupled with the few negative reactions I have had make me hesitant to have my group come across me taking the medication during this trip.
Has anyone here been in a similar situation and how did you go about 'hiding' your medication? I know technically that the pens don't need to be refrigerated after opening, but the medical side of my brain doesn't want to risk it. I will also have to travel with an unopened pen.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated
