Updated Submission Guidelines
Hey guys, here are a few quick rules & guidelines for posting on this subreddit (They may be altered in the future.)
This was taken from the previous posting guidelines and is just an update that removes the Coach/ Trainee part of the title and adds it in the flair (more about that in #1 under title format).
- Title Format
I want titles to be informative and easy to read, so we're going to try a system whereby a few pieces of vital information are displayed at the beginning of the post title.
-
The most important part of the title is whether or not the poster is a coach or someone looking to be coached (We'll steal the word trainee from the post on the main sub). This will be added after you post in the form of a flair. After posting, look for your post, then the grey word "flair" in the bottom right. Select the flair that applies to you and you're done!
-
Server - Obvious as to why this is needed.
-
The league/division of the player is necessary information regardless of what they are looking for.
-
We need the role in the game they are looking to improve, or in the coaches case - the role they are looking to teach.
So I was thinking a little something like this:
[NA/Diamond 1/Top Lane] <Custom Text>
Posters can fill the custom text with whatever they like, as long as they keep it simple and then elaborate within their post. Try to keep your title clean.
- Content Format
Now we have the main pieces of information in the title, the actual content guidelines are a bit looser. I haven't had any contact from any coaches yet, but I would imagine if someone were to be advertising themselves to the coach, they'd probably like to know a bit about you.
Again we can probably take some pointers from the thread created over on the main subreddit and include a few key bits of info.
Coaches
-
Give a short description of why you're coaching, or who you are. It really isn't incredibly vital but I'm sure people will appreciate knowing the coach a little through this.
-
State the roles or champions you'd like to give coaching on (I know we posted this in the title, but people forget).
-
Notify the potential trainees how you would prefer them to contact you (Reddit pm, post in the thread, Skype etc).
-
The rest is upto the individual coach, if they prefer to coach only players of certain leagues then that is entirely upto them. They should include any information they could be relevant such as times they are available, level of player they wish to coach, languages spoken and so on.
Trainees
-
Similar to the coaches, give a bit of background about yourself and your time in LoL, as well as why you want coaching and what you want to improve.
-
Trainees should mention any particular champions or styles they want to improve/learn
-
Times available are fine to post here, but in general I would expect the trainees to be more flexible around the time the coaches are available.
The rest is again, anything the trainee thinks is relevant to the request.
The guidelines within the actual posts are less stringent, as long as the vital information is included the poster is welcome to type as many or as few words as they like.
One final thing I'd like to mention is that this subreddit's balance of coaches to trainees will likely be imbalanced. I expect there to be many people that wish to find a coach, with not as many coaches as that is simply how the player spread is. Because of this, I would like people to show some respect to coaches as most of them will be doing this out of their own good will, trying to help people improve. If a coach doesn't have any space for any more trainees then I would simply wait until they post another "ad" or update their current posts, please do not pester them unnecessarily.
I'll put a link to this post in the sidebar and I will create a post in the style I mentioned above, hopefully people can then follow my lead and we can get this place a bit more organised.
There will also be a new sorting feature in the sidebar which you can filter posts with. Hopefully this will help coaches and trainees find relevant posts quicker.
