Should I withdraw from mutual funds to buy a bike or take a loan?

Planning

I’m planning to buy a bike that costs ₹2.4 lakhs. I currently have this exact amount invested in mutual funds (motilal Oswal midcap fund- CAGR 2 years - 18%, 5 years - 30%).

I'm torn between two options:

  1. Withdraw the ₹2.4L from mutual funds and buy the bike outright — no EMI, no interest, but I lose the potential investment growth.
  2. Take a loan of ₹2.4L for 18 months at 8.9% interest, keep the mutual funds untouched, and pay monthly EMIs (~₹14.5K). The total interest paid over 18 months would be around ₹21.5K. If my mutual fund continues to perform at ~12% annually, I estimate I could earn slightly more than the interest paid.

I’m okay with short-term EMIs and the risk, but unsure if taking on debt makes sense when I already have the funds. What would you do in my situation? Am i missing something in my calculation ?
