Anyone Else feel like JW:R is the ''Bumblebee 2018'' point of this Franchise?

Spielberg felt that JW was heading too much in the same direction as the Michael Bay Transformers franchise, so does this mean that the JW Rebirth course-correction is synonymous with 2018's ''Bumblebee'' which was a fairly well received soft-reboot that played things safer and played in to it's strengths.
