Custom Bound vs. Omnibuses

About ten years back, I got into custom binding comics, and I focused on some incredible runs that had never been collected where the individual issues were pretty cheap, so I could fill in my gaps/replace issues that had been damaged in a basement flood.

Welp, now a lot of those runs are being collected in omnibuses and I'm torn - do I stick with my custom bound edition that has everything I want in the precise order I want it or do I go for the new omnibus that has the lovely oversized art?

(While "get the omnibus and keep your old bound volumes" is definitely an option, I also face the perennial issue of shelf space...)

Anyway, just wondering if anyone else had dealt with this question before. The three omnibuses that are most at issue are Silver Surfer: Return to the Spaceways, Spectacular Spider-Man by DeMatteis & Buscema, and Spider-Man 2099 vol 1 (which admittedly has been out a few years at this point).
