I hate being a disorganized and depressed person in a perfectionist space.

Support Needed (Kind Advice and Commiseration)

I have a lot of things, all are used. My depression room is kinda disorganized, a little messy at times, but my parents refer to it like it's a dirty pig pen. It's just I have a lot of things, mostly arts and crafts. And my room is honestly too small now for how much I've gotten. I organize the best I can when I have the energy and even buy baskets/crates to put stuff in, though I still sometimes have things out. And yes, I do throw things away that I don't use or need.. I'm not a hoarder like my dad tries to make me out to be.

I was in the middle of reorganizing my room, and my mom started an argument with me over taking out the box in the hallway. It used to hold lots of school supplies for years, but it was close to empty by the time I graduated. She told me to take the stuff out the hallway, and I did. I took the box and threw out or put away whatever was in there. She got mad that I took the box without asking, even though she told me she wanted the mess out of the hallway. I did what she wanted. I might as well have taken the box that's been sitting there collecting dust since it is officially now no longer in use. I had the box for years, and it was always in my room before being placed in the hallway next to my door instead. Nobody else was using it but me.

After that, she yells at me that I take all the shelf space in the hallway bathroom, and that I took all 'her baskets' to place stuff in. Like the soap basket. Miracously forgets the day she WATCHED AND ALLOWED ME to reorganize everything and USE THE BASKETS. She hadn't refilled soap in it for months, but apparently she tried to get soap one day and was just flabbergasted by my stuff being in there instead. Then she yelled about my makeup, body washes, everything else I store on the shelves.

I don't understand why she's angry, because in my mind I'm using the shelf for it's purpose, but she wants it to look perfect and according to how she wants it in sacrifice of my things. My brother only has three few things and he places them on the very bottom shelf. I've even left extra space for him before, but he never ever uses it, so why wouldn't I use the space that's there?? I had to take most of my bathroom stuff into my room, so now I have even more clutter to organize..because now I'm suddenly restricted to one bathroom shelf despite it having been completely okay before to use more than one or however needed in general. I wish I could get my own place.
