Sneaky

So I sneak behind this guy, I follow him to this gathering, and the fireplace is being body blocked. I've tried sneaking around the guy and I've tried running past him but to no avail. Am I missing a vital piece of information? Can these guys be killed? Or moved somehow? Because the door closes behind me I can't try to lead them away somehow. I'm kinda just lost on this one
