Smells like heater when AC turns on. Should I be concerned?

Every time my AC turns on, it smells like it does when the heater turns on in the winter. There also seems to be just a little bit of heat coming out of the vents for a small amount of time just prior to the cool air coming out.

Is this something that is, or could cause, a problem?
