Seeing people my age abroad living better lives hits different sometimes
Okay so this might sound a little insecure or whatever but I’m being honest here. Every time I see Pakistanis living abroad, especially in the West or Europe, just vibing, having access to basic stuff, clean streets, opportunities, freedom, good pay, etc… I feel this weird jealousy in me.
Like yeah I KNOW life abroad isn’t perfect, people struggle there too, jobs aren’t easy, loneliness is real, bills be wild, etc. But still man… just the quality of life looks so much more peaceful and sorted compared to what we deal with here. I’m not even talking luxury, just the basics being easier. Walking at night safely, systems that actually work, being able to grow without constant stress or chaos.
And the thing that hits is when you see someone your age or even younger, same background, just there, living it up. Makes you start questioning your own situation and wondering if you’re just unlucky or stuck.
Anyone else feel this? And if you’ve dealt with this kinda envy before, how do you fight it? I don’t want to stay bitter or waste energy on this feeling, but it keeps coming back. Would love to hear real talk on this, no filters
