Building a New PC - Feedback and Advice
I've been mainly gaming in the land of prebuilts, and finally got the wife to agree to a new PC so I'm building my own for the first time. I mainly play FPS games with my friends (Tarkov and COD) and also like the story driven RPGs. I have a budget of around 3K USD. I currently have a 38" ultrawide running at 3048x1600 and two 1440p 27" monitors. 4K is in the cards in the next year or so.
My plan is to hit up my local MicroCenter and take advantage of some of the AMD bundles, right now my pricing is at their largest AMD bundle with the Asus X870E but am open to changing that, not sure I really will get into overclocking and that kind of thing (not at first). I'm stuck on my GPU and have played around with the 9070 XT, a 5070 ti and the 5080. I know there's some strong feelings in the GPU space right now, but I'm pretty oblivious to it to be honest.
I'm planning on a 4 year cycle before I consider new upgrades, etc. if that's relevant.
- CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D
- Mobo: Asus ROG Strix X870E-E
- Cooler: Artic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360
- RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 Series 32GB DDR5-6000
- Video Card: Sapphire RX 9070 XT ($809.99) or Asus RTX 5070 Ti ($999) or MSI RTX 5080 Ventus 3X ($1349).
- Storage: Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB
- Power Supply: Corsair Rme 850W
- Case: Lian Li O11D EVO RGB (Don't really care about RGB, but I use it for minor accents if it has it.)
I know I'd need some more fans since that case doesn't include them. Is there anything I'm missing or can I cut costs in one place and reallocate money elsewhere that makes sense?
