I have no idea on what to do! Help!!!

First time posting here and I'm in a situation which happened in school. Basically I have a group of friends who are with me since 7th grade. I hang out with them all the time and lie we always sit together and stuff in classes and all.

The thing is like I like hugging or just yk physical contact with my friends and stuff soo yeah. We flirt as a joke plus one of my friends even has a boyfriend. We just joke and play around.

This a full girls school btw. Last period today, some girls where one of my other friend and some other girls and the new girl came up to miss. Miss announced that she has smth to share and told one of my other friend to tell it.

She said that 2 other girls I'll name then A and B were talking to the new girl and telling her not to hang out with my friend group becuz we are a bunch of lesbian people and emphasized on my name as in like "(my name) and her friend grp" like that. My other friend had overheard it and told this to the whole class.

I was kinda shocked soo started laughing cuass I mean idk what else was there to do. My best stood up immediately and shouted at the girl (not the one who told this but the one who told the new girl) about this nonsense and stuff. My other best friend started crying and I was kinda scared cause this will cause rumours to spread and everyone else will know abt it and stuff.

I also started crying cause I didn't want this to get to the teachers or any other students. One of my best friends goes to that girl's bus soo she too care of it or smth. The one who stood up and shouted at her told us that she gonna complain to the principal and take her parents to the principal office.

I honestly don't know wait to do and I'm just thinking about it all day and have no idea what the heck is going on. I can tell my parents but afraid to do it. Pls help me out. In a right spot rn.
