3.5 out of 15 days Westfjords - enough time, or overloaded itinerary?

Hey all,

my boyfriend and I want to book a car tour once around the ring road. It's 15 days in total. 3.5 of those days will be spent in the Westfjords, namely in the regions Ísafjörður and Látrabjarg.

However, we also have the option to do the same 15-day tour *without* visiting the Westfjords. We were told that the pace is a lot more relaxed, and extra trips can be made that wouldn't be available if the Westfjords are included (e.g. an ice cave tour - who knows how long these will still exist :( )

Now from what I've seen and heard, the Westfjords are *mind-boggingly* beautiful, and I'd hate to miss them. However, I don't want to overload our itinerary with too many things - I also want to savor the rest of Iceland as best as I can!

Should we go for the Westfjords, or book another trip maybe in a few years and concentrate solely on the Westfjords then? I saved money for a long time to be able to afford Iceland, and I'm really anxious about making a mistake!
