I want to know how controversial my novel idea potentially is
So I came up with this idea while attending a concert of a kpop group I adore, and its basically my way of combining my passion for music and writing.
I won't delve too deep into the plot because its in its very rudimentary phases, but its basically about a fan who kills an idol of a boy group. I want the book to function in two point of views, one of the fan and one of the group member who was very close to the victim. The fan pov is fine, as i am taking my own fandom experiences and using the opportunity to explore parasocialism.
What might be more contreversial is the boy group member pov. I want to explore, obviously, grief, as well as platonic friendships and artistic fulfillment. Obviously, this pov would function within the kpop industry. I have a running list of items i need to research about the industry, as well as Korean culture, and i am really passionate about entertainment industries in general. But at the end of the day, Im not Korean and Im obviously not in that industry, so im wondering how much of my novel idea is really my place to write about. Could use some advice on what boundaries authors need to follow when it comes to novel ideass.
