Do you actually monitor your rental cameras?
Had a convo with a buddy the other day who manages a handful of short term rentals, and he casually dropped that he’s got a virtual assistant literally watching his security cameras in real time. I was like, wait, seriously? Someone is actually sitting there monitoring the feeds, ready to catch any sketchy stuff before it turns into a bigger issue? Honestly I didn’t get the point at first.
He hired them through this company and apparently it’s a legit service they offer, not some random setup. Costs him a few hundred bucks a month, and they assign someone specifically for CCTV monitoring. At first I thought it was kinda overkill, but honestly? With the amount of weird guest stories out there like parties, damage claims, mystery noise complaints it’s starting to sound like a smart move.
I haven’t tried anything like that myself, but I’m curious is anyone else doing this? Does it actually help with preventing issues or handling security disputes, or is it more of a “just in case” peace of mind thing? I’m thinking about testing it out but would love to hear if it’s been worth it for anyone.
