How (un)likely are board of examiners to allow you to re take exam?

Ive repeated these units. Im in mechanical engineering and I got an "X" for two of my classes (Fluid mechanics and Machine dynamics)

For fluid I got an overall mark of 48 :'( and for Machine I got 56 (but got 34% on exam which doesn't meet the pass requirement of 40% for final exam)

Also like for fluid I calculated that I got 29% on the exam which is incredibly low? Unless no follow through marks occur?

BUT this is my second time doing these units so im scared that the board of examiners won't give me a chance to re-sit.

Or is it more likely to be automatically allowed?
