Motor Controller Help

I recently purchased a new motor controller because my old one was short circuited. The new one came with the correct wires but I am confused on the lock wire. My throttle has a 3 pin throttle connection and so does the motor controller. The part I am confused about is that the throttle has another 2 pin connector with a red wire and a white wire. The motor controller only seems to have ONE red wire. I want to know what else I need to connect to the other pin besides the red to red connection. I have connected the power and it does not turn on (I assume because the lock hasent been disengaged. Could someone help me figure this out? I am not super experienced with electrical I should mention.
