Up until recently I was basically non-existent on the internet. I lurked and that was it. I recently started posting here and there on Reddit and built up some karma. l saw the number on my profile(picture with post) and was like “Oh dang! There’s gotta be a homestuck subreddit!” So here I am! I’ll likely start making homestuck art to post here, along with whatever else. I’ll even dig up my old journals to find the originals.

So now that I’m here, I wanna make this a discussion post because I enjoy hearing people’s stories! How did you get into Homestuck? Who’s your favorite character, and why?

I got into homestuck around 2016 when a friend in school introduced me to it(I literally joined the around same time the original comic ended T^T). I regret not finding it sooner as the fandom was basically everything I’ve always wanted to be a part of.

My favorite character is and always will be John Egbert. I actually cosplayed him a few times. It wasn’t hard because I could get my hands on a white shirt easily and paint on the knock-off slimer logo, and my hair used to spike up naturally with little to no help(getting it to stay in position without shifting back and forth between messy spikes and windswept required got2bglued gel, which I hated). I’ve wanted to cosplay other characters but getting the supplies to do so was hard back then. I might try soon. I’m now a semi-responsible young adult. What could go wrong? :3

Aside from John, my runner up favorite character was Dave Strider. Outside of Homestuck, my two favorite movie franchises are Rocky and Back to the Future. I also love old music and records and CDs, so… ya know. It fits.

My favorite troll for a while was Gamzee(he’s less my favorite now cause of how he turned out, but back then I loved the psychotic juggalo aesthetic, and the constant “Motherfuckin’ this” and “Motherfuckin’ that” cause it was basically the most opposite of my family(real old fashioned southern white Christians strict on everything; I’m the black sheep punk rock graffiti artist). Random fun fact: I have an OC in a wasteland rpg who had the last name Makara. I chose the name for filler cause it had just met Gamzee, and I never went back to change it so it stuck. He was usually referred to by his first name or nickname but I got referred to as “Makara” because of him. For years my tag was WildMakara before I switched to WatchfulFox

Nowadays, I can’t choose a favorite troll cause there’s so many ups and downs to all of them(prolly Nepeta would be my current fav?).

Hello Homestuck!!!
