designing for disability

Hi, I'm a young designer, and recently I stumbled upon a post by someone who said physical buttons/controls are disappearing in the name of 'modern design', to make everything sleek, minimal, etc. The big problem everyone is ignoring is how touch is how many visually impaired people recognize things.
I tried figuring out my switchboard without seeing it and since ik which button does what I can easily glide my hands over them to count the order of the buttons and press the one I need to, BUT imagine a touch switch board in this situation, cant feel anything and if I go to search for maybe braille markings, I might end up touching the wrong command, in this situation since its a switchboard I might turn on light instead of fan, which is not a big deal, but what about other things, what if this makes them end up in situations that cant be undone (cant think of any examples right now)
But it feels very uneasy to me that the design isn't so inclusive.
I wanted to work on something that bridges this gap, but before that, I need some opinions on this. If there is more to this problem, if I'm overthinking it t
sorry if this is offensive in any way.
Would also love to know some daily problems you might face on a day-to-day basis, and think of some solutions that u would want to have, I'd love to build on them.
