Complicated eyeball-havers; are there any stores that worked for you?

Hey all!

There’s a lot of talk about Warby Parker, Zenni, and EyeBuyDirect with many folks having success. Unfortunately, I have not been so lucky with these options.

Perhaps my prescription is too complicated? I was not exactly blessed with great vision (nystagmus, strabismus, myopia, astigmatism) but it’s surprisingly not terrible given all the things going on (20/30 in one eye and 20/40 in the other).

Anywho, whenever I have tried purchasing glasses outside my doctors office, I haven’t had much luck. Tried Zenni, Warby Parker, Pearle Vision…and they always seem a little off or completely off. I get my prescription from my doctor and they even give me the PD so I don’t have to measure it myself/at the store.

Perhaps it’s the frames I’m getting that aren’t compatible (I use the site recs based on PD) but I’m just not having much luck.

Any recommendations from fellow difficult eyeball owners?
