[Recommendation Request] Help Buying a Men's Watch!

I am looking for a men's watch as a wedding present for my fiance. This would be his first watch outside of a fitness watch so I am not trying to go overboard. Looking for a classic starter piece with a leather band under $400.

So far I have looked at:

• Lilienthal-Berlin Chronograph Dark Silver White (mixed reviews)
• MVMT Classic II

Please help. I don't know what I'm doing!
