Advice

had my surgery 3/22, got about 20 pounds from my goal weight. at my healthiest i suffered a death which subsequently led to depression, job loss, apartment loss and had to move back in with my parents at the end of 2023. long story short i gained all but 20 pounds back. i’m in a much better place now but feel like i failed, so please be kind.

i’m working out again and trying to change my eating habits. my trainer says i need to be eating between 2000-2200 calories a day to be in a healthy deficit. everything i’ve seen online says 1200-1500 calories a day this far out, so wouldn’t that make my deficit 1000?

i know i won’t lose at the rate i did right after surgery, i just want to focus on correcting my eating habits again and losing 2 pounds a week (trainer said is healthy and possible). anyone in my situation, what do you think?
