First period after salpingectomy?

I had my left fallopian tube removed two weeks ago, I stopped bleeding around a week ago, pregnancy tests were faint at this point.

Last night I noticed I was bleeding, bright red blood which has continued today. I tested negative today.

I called the hospital, the nurse sounded unsure but said it could be an early period but to go in as an emergency if it gets very heavy or continues longer than ten days. I waited for three weeks for them to diagnose the ectopic pregnancy and the thought of more waiting has me in a bit of a panic.

I was wondering if other people had started their periods so early after surgery?
