Can’t believe Mon Mothma beat Kleya in the vote, how are people liking Mon in this show?

Just saw the character popularity voting results and couldn’t believe that Mon beat Kleya. Is it really about screentime?

She has no interesting backstory, she’s not morally gray/she never dirties her hands. She’s white shining beacon of useless morality with no darkness and no nuance. She hates and straight up rejects and resolutely condemns Luthen and his actions, who’s the central ethos of the show. Most her moments in s2 basically exists to highlight and celebrate other more effective rebellion characters. Her trope is “morally idealistic politicain”...I guess, and the show doesn’t view the first two part as a good thing and she’s not doing anything as the third m, so what’s there to like about her..?

Her arc is not really well shown or well written. Individual scenes are good, but again, still not really designed for people to like or appreciate her-probably because they’re not actually about her lol.

Also her family stuff-a prominent part of her story- amounts to nothing and I’m still wondering why it is included in this show. Their storyline are not even used to show how tragic Luthen’s sacrifice is contrasting Mon’s naivety and stupidity like Tay’s storyline.

So Andor’s Mon has absolutely no competence, no skill, no ability, no signs of intelligence... except willingness to leave her position on Coruscant, but that’s not really a personal and specific trait, is it? Anyone who’s committed could have done that.

Whereas Kleya is an energy ball of determination and competency. She never hesitates, she’s very resourceful and she knows what has to be done. Even if the rebellion needs some like her, Mon only gets to be where she does thanks to Kleya and Luthen. Infinitely more fascinating and interesting characters imo - than Mon who’s very one note.

Also Kleya has a very moving arc about accepting the community that she’d given everything to grow after being left alone, bit Mon doesn’t changes at all throughout the show- idealistic person who can’t compromise and get dirty.

(I do think the actress’s acting and her costumes are great though)
