How can I handle a situation where my hard work is overshadowed by my lead?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently in a frustrating situation at work and could really use some advice. I’ve been putting in a lot of hard work on various projects and have completed about 95% of the tasks. However, my lead often comes in and takes credit for the work, stating that “we are almost done” or “I’ll document this” even though I’ve been the primary contributor.

While he does provide support when needed, it feels like he doesn’t recognize my efforts or the depth of my understanding of the projects. In meetings, he sometimes explains concepts to me as if I’m unfamiliar with them, which is quite frustrating since I’ve been the one doing the work.

A couple of months ago, I mentioned my concerns to my manager, and I noticed that he started getting hostile toward my lead. Later on, I saw him talking nicely to the lead, and now I’m feeling confused about what’s going on. I’m not sure if I should address this again or if I should just stay out of it.

I understand that the job market is tough right now, and I can’t afford to lose my job. I’m actively looking for new opportunities, but it’s challenging. How can I address this situation without jeopardizing my current position? Any advice on how to handle this professionally while ensuring my contributions are acknowledged would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!
