Is violent bullying as common as it's portrayed in shows?

I've started watching kdramas some weeks ago and so far I've watched 7, and 5 of them had bullying related plots. Extreme, very violent bullying. Is this such a big issue in Korea? Or is it just exaggerated? And not only from student to student, but also from teachers. I watched The Glory, was surprised and only thought of it as a specific case. But then I watched Weak Hero, then We're All Dead, and even in Twenty one twenty five there are abusive teachers... It also seems so overlooked by everyone, bu teachers and parents... they're fine with the aggressions towards their children and they even get angry at them for it? I started to think it might be a issue there since at least in my country this doesn't happen. And if it does, it's a big deal.
