Doctor scheduled me for a procedure w/o pre acknowledgement

Long story short I asked to be referred to a doctor who can perform lletz procedure under general anaesthetic (1 month ago) . And has been told to attend a consultation today to chat about it.

I waited for an hr and half to see the doctor and within minutes , the doctor told me he s scheduled me to do the painful procedure on spot cuz he does not think general anaesthetic is needed .

I m not sure how his brain played out, it doesn’t really make sense ! I would have had the procedure done with my previous doctor IF im able to cope with local anaesthetic only, and why would I be in need to refer to him ?

And I m extra confused on why didn’t he discuss the procedure and acknowledge it before hand ? When I rang the hospital I was told that the appointment is for a consultation only.

I had to spend a ton of time to re justify myself and VERY firmly push back on the procedure he has in mind for me today.

I had no one with me, my husband can’t pick me up after the procedure , my house isn’t organized for me to go home just to rest, I mean what on earth was he thinking !!!
