Need Help - Cost considerations

Wife and I are netting 9k a month after taxes and retirement savings. She’s working part time and I should have a pretty aggressive ramp on my salary the next couple of years.

We’re looking to buy our first home and skip the starter home step. Is it crazy to have a mortgage of around 4K a month?
