Urgent help needed

A student gave my wife some fish in a water bottle today, we didn’t want to accept them but thought it’s probably best in our hands. Student claims she caught them herself and that these fish like cold water??

Located in northeast china, any help identifying would be much appreciated as well as suggestions on next steps.
