Sublocade Shot

I’ve been tapering off Suboxone since March of this year. I was taking 8 mg a day from October until end of February and now I’m down to just 2 mg a day. My doctor suggested taking one dose of the Sublocade shot to completely get me off of the medication entirely and I was looking for some feedback from anyone who did something similar or just had the shot in general.

My doctor said she’s had many of her patients successfully come off subs using this method and only a couple of patients ended up going back to them.

I’ve read both good and not so good feedback/experiences from people who switched to the shot, some people saying it was the best decision they’ve ever made (besides getting sober, obviously). Others have said that the dose was really strong for the first two weeks and then it wore off quickly and ended up taking subs to offset that feeling.

I almost feel like I’m going backwards by taking the shot considering I’m so close to being off of these, but I also think it could be the best option. Any feedback or advice is super appreciated!
