news in library is completely gone

the news section in my steam library has been missing for a full week. i can't figure out how to bring it back. restarting steam doesn't fix it.

i have a lot of games in my library and i know for a fact that some of them are getting news/update posts, so this isn't happening because there's no news posts. i also never remove or disable news for the games i own, so i definitely didn't do this myself.

how do i bring the news section in my steam library back? this is driving me crazy
