Fixed Lidar unit for 3D mapping yard / driveway with RJ45 or WiFi connectivity

I'm pretty new to Lidar stuff, as it's generally outside the price range of most casual users.

However, I would like to use Lidar to 3D map my front yard and driveway, to monitor for people, cars, or even wildlife that might come through.

Are there any Lidar units that I could fix to a post, that support RJ45 or WiFi ethernet connectivity, and are in a reasonable price range, of maybe a few hundred dollars? I think a 15-30 degree vertical FOV and 120+ degree horizontal FOV would be adequate.

What kind of open source software could I use to map the resulting points in 3D space?
