Am I cooked?

Hi! I am a new player, well returning from 2018 when I played the story and at max maybe 2-3 hours of multiplayer. I tried the game modes and it became obvious fast that I don't like the 4v4 modes. It just not for me. I don't like the ganky playstyle so I switched to brawl and duels, but it has so little player base that it pairs me with player who have 60+ prestige or whatever level on their character. I don't even know what moves the characters have apart from warden. I play in Europe usually between 19:00-21:00. Is there really so few people playing duels or is my matchmaking cursed? I wanna like the game, but as it is, it may have been wasted time on my part becasue I don't want to play against bots forever.
