Jeez. How many activities to progress in the Crossroads reward track?

Is it just me or does it take extremely long to progress in the reward tracks? How many activities per column? I just did like 5 or 6 different Control Points/Hostages/Restore audio missions and still on 72 of the Crossroads reward track. It seems to drag forever.
