I just had this thought, help me understand it please
So, we know we have free will. We also know God knows everything that had happened, happens and will happen. And we know He created us with a purpose, and already knows what our ultimate end will be.
Now, if one is created by God, but is bound to go to Hell anyway, that does not seem fair, and free will here would be useless. If one is created with the intent to go to Heaven, no matter what they do, they will get there.
These statements are at the base of Calvinism, as far as I've seen, and I don't quite agree with them. Instead, I do agree our actions really brong us closer or further away from God.
But the problem still stands. If God knows someone is going to go to Hell, why create them in the first place?
I think I found a possible answer. Mind you, I don't know if this is backed by Scripture, and I do apologise if this comes out as offensive.
The fact God knows everything implies He knows all of our story, that He perfectly designed. Now, what if we got a tiny part wrong? What if God knows everything in a different way? Cause we often think that God created just one path for us, that leads to Heaven or Hell, depending on our actions. But what if the fact God knows everything, doesn't exactly mean He knows our only possible end of life?
What if, instead, God knows where our actions take us, and hence He designed infinite number of endings, for our infinite number of choices? That is what I logically think it's the best possible explanation: that God is able to predict exactly where our actions lead us, and while He does have a plan for us, that plan is not 100% fixed, but keeps moving just as we move in our daily life choices.
This is becoming long and I don't think I can explain it better than this... so yeah, please tell me what you think and if this answer is possible, or if there is another answer I might have lost!
