Performance with new parts?

I have a Lenovo Thincentre m90a I believe it's called, the motherboard and everything is built into the back of the screen. I can't add a GPU and an eGPU is out of the question, so how can I boost performance without purchasing a new desktop? My first idea was to swap CPU's from an i3-10100 to an i5-10500 and add an additional 16gb of ram. Would that help at all in low-mid range gaming?
